Navigating through unpredictable times

empty road

We are living in uncertain times. Concerns about health and well-being, jobs, the economy, and our personal financial security are keeping many of us up at night. This couldn’t be more true for injured workers in Washington State who are either dealing with long running L&I injuries and claims, or have recently been injured on the job.

At this point, many people have received a stimulus payment from the federal government in an attempt to ease some of the financial burden the COVID-19 pandemic has caused. However, some people who need the assistance most are still left wondering whether they’re eligible for the payments, and if so, when they can expect them. The answers to these questions are unfortunately not cut and dry. However, users can check this information with a new online tool at IRS.gov. There’s also the option for those who do not file federal tax returns to update their bank information so payments can be made electronically if they’re eligible to receive them.

If you haven’t received a stimulus payment yet and are curious about your eligibility or you need to update your bank account information in order to receive the payment sooner (via direct deposit rather than paper checks through the mail), go to IRS.gov and click on the “get my payment” link.

Above everything else, please stay safe and as always, if you’re dealing with a workers’ compensation (Labor and Industries) or personal injury claim in Washington state, please do not hesitate to reach out to Carlisle and Byers for a free consultation. We are actively practicing safety measures and social distancing to help flatten the curve, and we’re available virtually to help with your legal needs.

We wish you the best in all you do, and together we will get through this!
